This has been bugging me since I got my new Chromebook but I’ve been working around it by creating new Hugo posts at the CLI and then opening the new file in the Text app and pasting that way but while I was still trying to get to sleep at 02:30 this morning I suddenly remembered the problem and decided to search for it.
It took me a 5 second Google search to find this medium post from 2018 with the answer.
echo "set mouse-=a" >> ~/.vimrc
Yep, it was that simple. I know because I’ve just tested it now I’m awake again and sat at my Chromebook.
