Generation for the week

I’m grabbing data from the GivEnergy cloud because it draws pretty graphs, so I don’t have to.

Solar ganeration and usage chart

A pretty reasonable week with generating a little over 142 kWh.

We had a couple of great days for generation in and around the otherwise gloomy weather week. On the 18th we generated just short of 39kWh and managed to use about 32kWh, pushing 24.6kWh into our EV for about 85 miles of extra range. On the 20th we generated a little under 37.5kWh and managed to use about 24kWh, with 17.3kWh going into the EV for about 60 extra miles of range.

We’re still exporting quite a bit without having the SEG in place, or even applied for. We’re still missing details to be able to apply and despite a number of emails asking for the information, I’ve yet to get a reply from our installer beyond “We’ll look into it and get to you as soon as we can” which is a little disappointing.

However, we are going to be at the Fully Charged Live event in Farnborough at the end of the week, which just happens to be where we met our installer last year. Hopefully, I can grab someone from the stand to help us out.

I’ve also been busy this week with some more home automation and have created a bot which sends a daily update about our solar system (forecast vs generation) 30 minutes after sundown. If you happen to be active over on the Fediverse and interested in solar enough to want daily updates, you can follow my bot at https://botsin.space/@pugmiestersolar or learn more about how I setup the bot over here.
